Four Treasure Valley men are being held in the Ada County Jail on drug trafficking charges after Ada County Sheriff’s officials seized about
115 pounds of marijuana at three locations Thursday afternoon.
Michael John Tate, 27, Jeremy Nicholas Riggi, 26, and Christopher E. Yardley, 26, of Boise, and Brook Abraham Vogt, 33, of Meridian are all charged with felony delivery of marijuana. Yardley, Riggi, and Vogt are also charged with criminal conspiracy, according to Ada County Sheriff’s reports.
Sheriff’s officials say 6 pounds were seized at a parking lot near the Ustick/Eagle roads intersection after an undercover drug buy; about 5 pounds were seized from a storage shed by an apartment complex on Bloom Street near the State Street intersection in Northwest Boise; and about 105 pounds of marijuana were seized at a home on Ronco Avenue in Caldwell, near the Homedale Road and South 10th Avenue neighborhood.Deputies say the raids began after Riggi, Yardley, and Vogt met with an undercover police officer in the parking lot near Eagle/Ustick around 1 p.m. Thursday. That’s where deputies say the men sold the undercover officer 5 pounds of marijuana. After that arrest, deputies found another pound of pot in the car, according to reports.
That investigation led deputies to search the storage shed in Northwest Boise, where they found 5 pounds of marijuana locked in a safe, Ada County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Andrea Dearden said.
It is unclear where the pot was found in the Ronco Avenue home. No one was home at the time. Dearden said deputies were still looking for people in connection with the case. Tate was arrested Thursday night at his apartment in Star, Dearden said.
Deputies say there is no evidence that the men grew the marijuana themselves, and detectives are investigating leads that indicate it may have been grown in the mountain areas north of Boise. The street value of the marijuana is estimated to be about $300,000.
Sheriff’s deputies had been investigating the men since April and had bought from at least one of the men prior to Thursday’s arrests, according to reports.
The men are all scheduled to make their initial court appearances later Friday.
